Apple has announced their summer Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) to start June 6th in San Francisco. Apparently, there will be no hardware releases and the focus will be on “the future of iOS and Mac OS” along with 100′s of technical sessions presented by Apple engineers. Although this dev con seems pretty standard at first glance, here’s the shocker: there is not going to be an iPhone announcement. Last year millions tuned in to watch Steve Jobs announce the iPhone 4.
This leaves us to speculate that the iPhone announcement will come at Apple’s Fall event, just in time for holiday shopping sprees. While we’ll wait to hear the official word, we have to say we’ll be sorry to not have an iPhone this summer, it always marks “that time of year” on our calendar.
