Amazon is hosting a press conference Wednesday, September 28 at 10AM ET in New York City to reveal their spankin’ new Android powered tablet, the Kindle Fire. The tablet will become available during mid-November and will feature a 7″ screen. Reports state that it looks very similar to the Blackberry Playbook. Before you get yourself all excited, let’s wait to see what gets released. Reviews have been mixed, with some analysts saying Amazon rushed their product out the door to have a new tablet on the shelf for the holidays.
While we’ll have to wait and see to find out the truth, we do know that the Kindle Fire will be running a custom version of Android and contain Amazon’s media content. It will be powered by a TI-dual core OMAP chip and run between $250 and $300.
We’ll have more as soon as the conference hits Wednesday. Til then, are you burning in anticipation??
