Thursday, September 8th, 2011

Yuuuup! You read the title right – Apple is aiming to ship 30 million iPhone 5 units this year. Apple’s lead manufacturing partner, Foxconn, is currently pumping out 150,000 iPhone 5′s/day. That’s a whole lot of Apple.

Reports state Foxconn will ship 5-6 million iPhone 5 handsets this month alone with total fourth quarter shipments above 22 million units. All in all, analysts estimate Apple will ship between 85-95 million iPhone smartphones this year, ranking Apple as the top global smartphone vendor in the world.

Even though Foxconn is producing all these iPhone 5 units, we, the public, still don’t have any confirmed release date or body type. What is for sure is that these next three weeks will certainly feel a lot longer as we all wait in anticipation.
